Do an Inmate Search
The first thing you will want to do is make sure the person who needs help is at the Longmont Jail by doing an inmate search.
You can either call the HelpLine at 303-651-8504 to find out if a person is at the Longmont Jail, or you can check online, here. You will also learn the inmate’s bond amount when you do an inmate search.
Be sure to write down the inmate’s ID number as you will need this at a later time.
Bailing Someone Out of Jail
Once completing an inmate search, you can then determine if you would like to bail the offender out of jail.
Keep in mind that if a person is arrested on city charges, new charges, warrants, or capias, the person is able to be released by posting a cash bond. If the person appears in court, you will get that money returned to you. However, if the offender does not appear after posting a bond then all the money will be forfeited to the city.
If you are unable to pay the full cash bond, you can consider doing a surety bond which is a contract between you and a bondsman. A bondsman will post bond on your behalf for a fee. You will not recover this fee.
You can post a bond at 2250 Kimbark Street, Longmont, CO, 80501. Jail bonds are open 24-hours per day, 7 days a week including holidays.
If you need a bondsman, contact 303 Bail Bonds.
Telephone Information
Inmates are able to use the phone. However, they will not be able to call your home or cell phone directly. Instead, when a prisoner calls home, it is treated like a collect call.
However, for an inmate to call a cell phone, they must set up a prepaid account prior to the call. To set up an account for an inmate, click here.
Visitation Information
Being able to see an inmate is key to their success and rehabilitation. To visit an inmate, you will need to follow these steps:
-
Obtain the offender's arrest number, name, and date of birth found with an inmate search.
-
Bring valid ID. A jail supervisor must review all requests for visitors. If a visitor has a warrant they will be arrested.
-
Go to the jail and request a visit. If the visitor is available, you will be allowed to visit.
